When building a building, which one of the bricks is most important to the stability of the entire structure? Hmmmm, good question... The answer is none. There is not just one brick which supports the entire building, it's all of the bricks together.
A very simple but meaningful example. For the same principle applys to this confirmation class. Not one person supports the entire program. We come together with different strenghts and weaknesses. We share our gifts and talents making our experience even richer and enjoyable.
Tonight we discussed how confirmation is a gift. God's love for us is a gift! God loves us, forgives us, and accepts us. All of this is free! We talked about how our confirmation journey is one of recognizing and accepting this. What a joy to walk this journey together. Each of the kids were given a small stone which stands to remind them of this discussion. It is my hope they will keep this simple rock for many years to come as they reflect upon our time together getting to know the living God who has great plans for each of us.
